Josephine "Jo" Roe

April 2, 1945 — March 4, 2014

Josephine Jo Roe, 68, of Newton passed on Tuesday, March 4th after complications from a stroke.

Mrs. Roe was born in April 2, 1945 in Ozark, which she continued to call home for much of her early life.  Mrs. Roe traveled the nation as an Army Wife before settling in Newton in 2002.  She was a talented painter who enjoyed making bird houses with her husband.

Jo is survived by her husband David Roe; her daughter Rena’ Logsdon John; her sons, Michael Roe and Joshua Roe; her sister Francis Faulk; she was Grandmother to Jessica Gabrielson, Sam, Michael, Caleb and Jarrett Logsdon.

She was preceded in death by her mother Foy Mae Carr; father Joseph Arrington; step-father Bobby Carr; brothers Mack and Dee Miller. She will forever be remembered by those who knew her as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Steve Bruce followed by interment at the Newton Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm Friday.
