Joyce Ann Kautz

April 14, 1949 — July 25, 2009

Joyce Ann Fleming Kautz, a resident of Dothan, AL and Powder Springs, GA passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 after an extended illness. She was 60.

Celebration of life services will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2009, 2:00pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At all other times the family will be at the home of her sister, Karen Wessner at 134 Wentworth Drive in Dothan. Because of the heart Joyce had for children, in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Southeast Child Advocacy Center, PO. Box 8781, Dothan, AL, 36304.Joyce was born April 14, 1949 in Enterprise, Alabama. She graduated from Fort Campbell High School in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky in 1967 and attended Wallace College in Dothan, Alabama where she earned a business degree. Joyce worked for GTE for many years and most recently worked for EDS in Atlanta Georgia as an Administrative Assistant for 21 years. Joyce exhibited great courage and grace during her lengthy illness. She loved life and cared deeply for others. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and the children in her life. She had numerous friends in Dothan, Iowa, and Georgia, including her dear friend Joan Deloney. Joyce enjoyed traveling and always loved shopping. She always seemed to have the energy to shop for all those in her life. Joyce was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.Joyce was predeceased by her father, Early Fleming, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Herring, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Richardson, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Fleming and her mother- in – law, Mrs. Margaret Kautz.Joyce is survived by her husband, Robert B.J. Kautz who showed her sacrificial love and deep commitment; her mother, Pearl Richardson who supported her with great care and compassion; her loving Dad, W. O. Richardson and his wife Evelyn Sellers; three caring brothers and wives; Jim Fleming and his wife Nancy, Ricky Richardson and his wife Helen, Freddy Richardson; one sister and her husband, Karen Wessner and her husband John; a sister-in-law Peggy Newman; Joyce was generous with her time and gifts, a second mother to each of her nieces and her nephew: Amy Fleming, Mandy Fleming, Anna Fleming, Angela Richardson, Chris Richardson, and Elizabeth Williams. Joyce never hesitated to positively participate in each of their lives. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and a special little girl, Marissa, who brought much joy to her life in the last several months.The family would like to thank everyone who has provided great care for Joyce over the last year, especially the staff at HealthSouth, Westside Terrace Rehab and our wonderful friend, Dorothy Cogman. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
