Judith Lee (Bigley) Flieger

Judith Lee Flieger, fondly known as Judy, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023, in Newton, Alabama. Born on September 17, 1947, in Pueblo, Colorado, Judy was a beacon of love, kindness, and creativity throughout her life.

Judy was a beloved mother to her sons, Scott (Cori) Flieger and Robert (Melissa) Price, and her daughter, Alice "Ally" Sullivan. She was a cherished grandmother to Alexis Price, Taylor "Tay Tay" Price, Aimee (Will) Sequira, Kacie (Zach) Even, and Daniel "Dan" Sullivan. Judy was also a doting great-grandmother to Riley, Jesse, Jameson, Lilli, Mason, Remi, and eagerly awaited the arrival of another great-grandchild in October 2023. Her love for her family was immeasurable and she found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy was the daughter of Alice Lee and the sister of Jimbo, Ken, Gary, Don (Nancy), and Bill Bigley. Though Alice, Jimbo, Ken, Gary, and dear friend Maribeth had passed before her, she maintained a close family bond with Don, Bill, Marilyn, Debbie, and Maribeth's daughters, Tara and Jamie; as well as dear friends, Kay and Betsy. She was also a dear cousin and aunt to several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Judy had a zest for life that was infectious. She was an avid country and western dancer and bowler, always the first to get the party started or to challenge someone to a friendly game. Her love for playing darts, fishing, and watching NASCAR were testament to her adventurous spirit and her love for a good competition.

Judy had a creative spirit that shone through in her love for arts and crafts. She had a particular fondness for porcelain dolls and quilting, often gifting her beautiful creations to family and friends. Her move to Dothan in 2009 marked a new chapter in her life, but her passion for creativity remained constant.

Judy's life was marked by her loving nature and kindness. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Her creativity was not just confined to her arts and crafts but was also evident in the way she approached life, always finding unique ways to bring joy to those around her.

In remembrance of Judy, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, kindness, and creativity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and through the beautiful pieces of art she left behind. Her love for life, her family, and her passions will forever be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
