Judith Lucille Poche

December 11, 1940 — March 29, 2025

Judith Poche, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on December 11, 1940, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Judith's kind spirit and nurturing heart touched everyone she encountered throughout her 84 years of life.

Judith's journey led her from the quaint streets of Allentown to the vibrant communities of Louisiana, where she met the love of her life, her late husband, Jerry Poche. Together, they built a life founded on love and family values, a legacy that Judith continued to uphold with every breath. After many cherished years in Louisiana, they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she dedicated her professional life to supporting children with special needs as a special ed secretary, a role that showcased her innate compassion and empathy.

In the latter part of her life, Judith made the move from Ft. Lauderdale to Dothan, Alabama, seeking a quieter. Her decision to relocate was a testament to her lifelong priority – the love and care for her beloved family.

Judith's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring family. She is survived by her sons, Steve Poche (Tabitha), Brian Poche (Roxanne), Andre Poche, and her daughter, Melissa Venezia (John). Judith's legacy extends to her grandchildren, Scott Poche, Shaun Poche, Amanda Grogis (Luke), Ashley Villanueva, Cecilia Poche, Nola Poche, Ryan Poche, Jamie Venezia, Anthony Venezia, and Rosalia Venezia; as well as her great-grandchildren, Lilly Helmus, Ethan Helmus, Liam Helmus, Noah Grogis, Raylee Grogis, and Caison Grogis, who will all hold her memory in their hearts as a guiding light. She also loved the many “adopted” members of her soccer family (you know who you are).

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, James Fred Weil and Glenna Markely, and her brother, Fred Weil. Their reunion in the afterlife is a comforting thought for all who mourn Judith's passing.

Those who knew Judith will remember her as the epitome of love, selflessness, and kindness. Her ability to provide support without expecting anything in return was a rare gift that made her a cherished friend, a beloved family member, and a pillar in her community. Judith's interests and passions always centered around her family, which was her pride and joy. Her love knew no bounds, and her selfless nature ensured that everyone in her presence felt valued and cared for.

In her spare time, Judith enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time with her family, sharing stories with her grandchildren, or enjoying the comfort of a good book. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, positively impacting the lives of numerous individuals through her work and community involvement.

Judith Poche's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of familial bonds. Her influence will continue to be felt through the lives of those she loved and the countless hearts she touched. Judith's journey on this earth may have come to a gentle close, but her spirit will forever remain an indelible part of the tapestry of her family's history.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Judith Poche was a treasure to all who knew her, and her memory will be held in the highest regard, a loving tribute to a life of extraordinary compassion and grace.
