Julius L. Bud Kelly

Julius L. “Bud” Kelly, a resident of Dothan, passed away on April 30, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side. He was 71. A private celebration will be held at a later date.

Mr. Kelly was born in Houston County on March 5, 1939 and resided the early years of his life in Dothan. He was a 1957 graduate of Rehobeth High School. He joined the U. S. Air Force and served for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1977. While serving in the Air Force he received his Associates Degree at El Camino College in Harbor City, CA and his Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State. Mr. Kelly was in real estate investments and established and operated Markel Financial Corp., Southbay Investments and Bali Management until his retirement in 1985. He resided in Torrance, CA prior to moving back to Dothan in 1993.Survivors include his wife, Evelyn “Happy” Register Kelly, Dothan; his brother, C. Ray Kelly and his wife Dianne K. of Abbeville, AL; his two sisters, Katie K. Brown and her husband Billy J. of Dothan, and Carolyn K. Ellisor of Mobile, AL; several beloved nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
