Ka'Irie Mahagany Toro Ward

Ka'irie Mahagany Toro Ward, 16, of Dothan passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. G. Lucian Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ka'irie was born February 24, 1998 in Dothan and lived here all of her life. She just completed the 8th grade at Rehobeth Middle School. She loved animals and wanted to be a Veterinarian. She was a kick boxer and enjoyed MMA in Dothan, played soccer and loved swimming. She attended Vineyard Church.

Survivors include her parents Eric and Kimberly Ward; brothers, Eric Kawika Devon Ward, Kalei niece Jade Toro, Kanaka Toro and Rafeal Truiett; grandparents, Dorothy Andrew Ousley and Gene Ward; great-grandfather, Earl Yuen; aunts, Stacie Haven Torda and Stephanie Ward; uncles, Kurt Sasada, Gerald Paula Ward and Stephen Linda Gaidez; five cousins; great-uncles, Baron Mapuana Yuen, Keola Yuen and Dennis Nona Toro; special cousins, Regina G Toro and Daniel Toro and a host of additional cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Earlett Toro, great-grandmothers Margaret Yuen and Rosalia Toro.
