Keith Alan Gilchrist

Keith Alan Gilchrist of Dothan, AL died Sunday January 9, 2011 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL following a long illness. He was 49.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday January 15, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. John Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm. Friday January 14 at the Sunset Funeral Chapel.Keith was born on October 11, 1961 and lived most of his life in Dothan. He was a 1980 graduate of Dothan High School. He attended Auburn University briefly and graduated from Troy University in 1985 with a degree in accounting.Keith was predeceased by his father Leon G. Gilchrist. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Enda Gilchrist of Dothan; three brothers, Jerry R. Gilchrist of Dothan, Tony L. Gilchrist and wife Sandra of Destin, FL, and Scott A. Gilchrist and wife Mary Jo of Dothan; four nieces, Nicole Gilchrist, Allison Ericksson & husband Bjorn of Sweden, Whitney Brown & husband Sam of Birmingham, Lindsey Gilchrist of Auburn; two nephews, Austin & Logan Gilchrist, both of Dothan.Serving as active pallbearers will be Sam Brown, Austin Gilchrist, Steve Marchman, Roger Johnson, Ted Brightwell and Jason Scott.Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 South Park Avenue, Dothan, AL 36301.
