Lacy Jordan Layton

Lacy Jordan Layton, a resident of Slocomb went home to be with our most precious heavenly father on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 17.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at New Hinson Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Singletary and Tony Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Lacy will be placed in the church for one hour prior to service time at the church.Lacy was born on March 3, 1992 in Dothan and has lived in this area her entire life. Lacy may have left Rehobeth High School in 2008, but she took with her many friendships and special memories. She started Ashford High School in August of 2008. In this short period of time, Lacy gained many more friends. Her contagious smile and her ability to make friends with all she met will truly be missed. If a person can be measured in richness by the number of friends they possess, Lacy would be unlimited in wealth. Lacy loved her family and friends endlessly. Two people besides her mother and father that held a very special place in her heart were Mabrie and her best friend, Emily. Both of these individuals will forever hold memories of the best times of their lives spent with her.Survivors include her father, Mike Layton of Slocomb, AL; her mother Diane Parker of Columbia, AL; brothers, Mark and Matthew Howard of North Carolina; grandparents, Wren and Barbara Layton of Dothan, Jerry and Janet Webb of Dothan, Deloris Bozeman of Millidgeville, GA; a niece Ragan Howard; several aunts, uncles and cousins; a very special friend Emily Stokes.
