Larry Kinney, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 77.

The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home in the reception center from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Larry was born on November 26, 1944 in Gainesville, Georgia to Hiram Chesley Kinney and IlaBelle Vickers Kinney and lived his early years there. After high school, he attended Truett-McConnell Junior College in Cleveland, GA where he met the love of his life, Margie. He was a 1967 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in business. Larry was employed with Michelin and moved to Dothan in 1979. Later, he worked for Slocomb Plastic Pipe until he started SSI Home Inspections and operated it until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed working in and maintaining his yard. He loved taking his family to their lake house on Lake Eufaula where he enjoyed skiing with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Kinney; his children, David (Julie) Kinney and Deanna (Lamar) Watford; his grandchildren, Kate (Ben) Tatum, Caroline Kinney and Tanner (Nicole) Watford; his brother, Tilmon Kinney; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
