Larry Hilliard Kirkland, a resident of Webb passed away on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Rickey Eppes officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Church of Christ with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.Mr. Kirkland was born on March 28, 1943 in Geneva County and lived the early years of his life in Slocomb, AL. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard and has been employed with Auto Zone and with Sam’s Club for the past 19 years. He has resided in Webb for the past 21 years. Mr. Kirkland was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Enon Church of Christ.
Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his parents, Hilliard Hinote and Lola B. Kirkland and by his brothers Charles Kirkland and Gerald Kirkland.Survivors include his wife of 20 years Mary Kirkland of Webb; sons, Leslie Weed and his wife Nancy of Webb, Todd Weed of Webb, Jason Weed of Cowarts, Paul Kirkland and Lana of Dothan, Steve Kirkland and his wife Angie of Culloden, WV; daughters, Pam Boin and her husband Jimmie of Newton, Lisa Chapman and her husband Joe of Cowarts; his grandchildren, Jennifer Black, Jessica Roberts, Ashley Boin, Emily Boin, Heather Sampson, Randy Cox, Micah McGinnis, Sam McGinnis, Brittany Weed and her fiancé Chris Logan, Chase Weed, Brooke and Brent Whitten, Brandon McCardle, Blake Weed, Bridget Weed, Drew Weed, and Grayson Weed; his great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Jordyn Sampson and Morgan and Paislee Whitten; mother-in-law Allie Mae Knowles of Webb; a sister-in-law Marilyn Crawford of Webb; aunts, Margie Murphy of Faydette, Vergie Smith of Hartford; mother of his children Mary Sizemore of Tallahassee, FL; son-in-law, Timmy McCardle; several nieces and nephews also survive.Serving as active pallbearers will be Donald Ward, James Enfinger, Clayton Enfinger, Elijah White, Larry Wambles and Crawford Pride.
