Larry Thomley

Larry Thomley, 67, of Dothan passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his residence.

rnFuneral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Christian Home Church of Christ with Freddy Harden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. At all other times the family will be at the home of Liz and Danny King, 605 Lee Boy Rd., Wicksburg, AL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36301. rnMr. Thomley was born January 9, 1944 in Houston County and lived the early years of his life in Wicksburg where he attended Christian Home Church of Christ. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1961 and later received his BS degree from Alabama Christian College. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Thomley was employed with Sony for over 20 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and a member of Westgate Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Maureen Thomley. rnSurvivors include his daughter Melissa Thomley of Dothan; his son Michael Thomley of Houston, TX; a brother Terry Thomley Vonda of Austin, TX; a niece Gina Friske Michael; a nephew Scotty Thomley. rnrnServing as pallbearers will be Mike Lewis, Ansley Whatley, Leon Cheshire, Bryan Thomley, Joe Walden, and Mike Murphee.
