Laura Crosby, 94, a resident of Dothan passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Westside Terrace.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion with Rev. Carl Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at Sunset Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Pkwy, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Crosby was born on March 5, 1923 in Damascus, AL and lived the early part of her life there. She moved to Ft. Myers, FL in 1940 and resided there until 1976 when she returned to New Brockton, AL. She was the Owner/Operator of Crosby’s Custom Covers for many years as an upholsterer. Mrs. Crosby moved to Dothan about 10 years ago, and was a member of Dothan First Assembly of God Church. She loved to cook for her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Crosby was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Otho and Ruby Louise Bass; her husband, John W. Crosby; her brothers, Thomas Mack Bass and Dorsey Lamar “Sam” Bass; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Crosby; her granddaughter, Brenda Poupard; and her great-grandson, Jonathan Peterson.

Survivors include her children, Wendell Crosby, Westley (Ruth) Crosby, and Debbie (Don) Gilbert; her grandchildren, Susan (Jerry) Currie, Steven Crosby, Wendy (John) Peterson, Tammy (Wayne) Hicks, Tiffany (William) Snell, and Austin (Amanda) Gilbert; 11 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
