Laurence E. "Larry" Ballantine, Sr., 93, of Dothan passed away Thursday, January 9, 2013, Alive Hospice, Nashville, TN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the St. Columba Catholic Church Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher and Father Patrick Maher officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Columba Catholic Church, 2700 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mr. Ballantine was born November 8, 1920 in Boston, MA. He was a retired military veteran of the United States Army and landed in Normandy on D-Day during World War II and served in the Korean War. Mr. Ballantine was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Ballantine; his parents, John J. and Helen Eagen Ballantine; his daughter, Deborah Ballantine Croft; his sisters, Connie and Helene; a brother, John.

Survivors include his son, Laurence E. Lynn Ballantine, Jr.; his grand-daughters, Katherine L. Ballantine and Elizabeth W. Ballantine; his brother, Paul M. Doris Ballantine.
