Len Allen Zapel

March 25, 1957 — January 10, 2015

Len Allen Zapel, 57, of Dothan, Alabama, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 12, 2015 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.

Len was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Olean High School in New York State. Len graduated with a degree in culinary arts in 1977, and after several years in the food service industry, started a long and successful career in construction. He then took an interest in Biblical Studies.  In August, 2007, he received his Bachelor of Christian Education degree from Shalom Bible College. In November, 2008, Len received his Bachelor of Bible Theology degree from the International College of Bible Theology. Len continued to pursue his Biblical Studies, receiving his Master of Divinity, including Biblical Languages Hebrew and Greek from Shalom Bible College and Seminary in January, 2011. Len was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and was involved in numerous church groups and activities.

Len is survived by his mother, Eileen Zapel, Dothan; his sisters, Michele Fritts, Dothan, and Laurie McCullough, Enterprise; his brother, Wesley Zapel, Rixford, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Len has left a legacy of love and grace. He loved everyone he met, ready to share himself and his Lord with anyone. He was a most gracious man, always forgiving, never condemning. Len was kind and generous to a fault but considered himself Blessed with many brothers and sisters in Christ. Len will be greatly missed and long remembered.
