Lena Hutcheson (Hutcheson) Reed

Lena "Gee" Hutcheson Reed, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. She was 80 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Dothan Area Botanical Gardens Picnic Pavillion, 5130 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303. Because of Gee's love of cats, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Kitty Kottage, 131 E. Selma Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

Gee was born on November 20, 1942 in Alabama to the late Cecil and Hazel Cosby Hutcheson in Loango, Alabama. She settled to the Wiregrass Community in 1986 to be closer to her family. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class from Red Level High School. Gee loved and was very committed to her job as an Optometrist Assistant for 25 years at 20/20 Eye Care. Gee adored being a grandmother to Tyler and Tanner. In her off time, she enjoyed working in her yard while watching the hummingbirds. Gee was very crafty, she enjoyed making bird houses and was an avid cross stitcher.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Goff and her sons, Tanner (Rhenabeth Root) and Tyler Brockett; her stepdaughters, Melanie Denton and her children, Carly and Colby Denton and Stacey Jenno and her children, Michael and Brette Jenno; and her brother, Greg Hutcheson (Sandy).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Hazel Hutcheson, and her older brother, Jerry Hutcheson.
