Lenora McAllister, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was 92. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2 pm at Greystone Church with Rev. Teresa Seevers officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Greystone Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 pm on Saturday. Mrs. McAllister was born on January 2, 1926 in Waycross, Georgia and lived her early years in Johnsonville, South Carolina where she met her husband. She was married to James McAllister for 66 years until his death in 2011. Lenora was employed at Claudine's for several years until her retirement. She was very family oriented and her favorite thing to do was cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading novels and crocheting. Lenora was a long time and very active member in Lafayette Street United Methodist Church, now Greystone Church. Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, James DeLeon McAllister and her son, Scott McAllister. Survivors include her children, Jerry McAllister and Don (Daisy) McAllister; her grandchildren, Robin McAllister Johnston, Rex Aaron McAllister, Steven McAllister and J.D. McAllister, II; her brother, Jimmy Wise; and several nieces and nephews.
