Lilla Pearl “Nanny” Baxley, 94, a resident of Dothan died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Westside Terrace.

rnFuneral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in New Providence Church with Rev. William Irwin and Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in New Providence Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. rnMrs. Baxley was born on July 13, 1917 in Geneva County and resided there most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Slocomb. rnMrs. Baxley was preceded in death by her husband Foy Baxley, her parents, Frank and Bertha Caldwell, her son Jimmy Baxley, her grandson Toby Baxley, and by her daughter-in-law Marie Baxley. rnSurvivors include her son, Jerry Sheila Baxley of Slocomb; her daughters, Winona Terry Welborn of Slocomb and Othelia Mike Clark of Carrabelle, FL; her 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. rnThe family would like to express a very special thank you to Westside Terrace, to Covenant Hospice, and to the staff of Willow Way for the love and compassion shown to their mother. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
