Lisa Monts Lovett

Lisa Monts Lovett, 56, of Dothan passed away April 24, 2015 at a local hospital.

Lisa was born May 16, 1958 in the State of Washington.  Lisa was a resident of the Wiregrass, she graduated from Enterprise High School and Troy University, and resided in Dothan thereafter.  Lisa and her husband Michael have been active members of Covenant United Methodist Church and Orange Beach United Methodist Church for many years.  She endured a five year battle with cancer and her struggle came to an end on April 24, 2015.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Michael Lovett; son, Logan Lovett Elizabeth Sloan and daughter, Kelli Griffin Shirley; granddaughters, Elsie and Lottie Shirley; mother-in-law, Betty Lovett; stepmother, Sylvia Monts Otis Parker; loving Uncle John and Aunt Tina Hulen; brother-in-law, Ed Penny Lovett; sister-in-law, Jane Denny Steele; sister-in-law, Sue Allen Tillis; several other cousins, nieces and nephews and her loving dogs, Lucy and Lester.

Lisa was a devoted mother, friend and caregiver to both her family and their extended friends.  She lived an exemplary life of civic duty.  She was an active member of numerous civic organizations including the Chamber of Commerce where she earned Ambassador of the Year, Service League, Meals on Wheels, Celebrate Recovery and Board of Directors for the Houston County Library Committee.  Lisa volunteered hours of personal service and committed resources and other efforts toward the capital campaign for the new Dothan Library, Wiregrass Children's Home, First United Methodist Children's Home and countless other organizations.

Lisa loved spending time with loved ones, her Tuesday Bible Study Group, gardening, sport fishing, boating, reading, traveling, caring for her family, and living life to the fullest.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 3610 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00-2:30 pm.
