Lois W. Jackson

Lois W. Jackson a resident of Midland City died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 72.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Moses Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm prior to the service at Sunset Funeral Home on Saturday.

Mrs. Jackson was born December 31, 1936 in Dale County and resided all of her life in Midland City. She was employed with the Dale County School System as custodian for twenty-six years until her recent illness. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include a son Lashawn Jackson and his wife, Jill of Tacoma, WA and a daughter Lashay Singletary of Midland City, AL; four grandchildren, Tavares Singletary, Terrica Singletary, Tristian Singletary and Armani Jackson; a sister Nell Reid of Cleveland, OH; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends also survive.
