Long Seaborn Kitchens

Long Seaborn Kitchens, 74, of Dothan passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at a local hospital.

rnServices will be held 2 pm Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Shirley Strozier officiating. rnMr. Kitchens was born November 7, 1937 in Plains, GA and lived there the early part of his life. He resided most of his life in Morris Plains, NJ and was employed at Grey Stone Psychiatric Hospital for 27 years and at Morris View Nursing Home until his retirement in 1992. He lived in Dothan for the past 19 years and was employed with Southeast Alabama Medical Center until his second retirement in 2001. Mr. Kitchens took ill two years ago and had been taken care of by his devoted wife Betty at home. He was a Mason. rnSurvivors include his wife of 21 years Betty Jean Kitchens of Dothan; daughters, Marion Jones of New Jersey, LaShawn Ross of Japan and Virginia Ross, Dothan; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lessie Wiggins and Louise Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews in New Jersey.
