In Loving Memory of Mr. Loren Dow
With profound respect and gratitude, we honor the life and legacy of Mr. Loren Dow, a man whose courage and skill as an aviator knew no bounds. A dedicated serviceman, Mr. Dow flew multiple airframes, including fixed-wing aircraft, Sky cranes, Jet Rangers, and Huey's, in his remarkable military career with the United States Army. Beyond his military service, Mr. Dow's passion for aviation carried him through an extraordinary civilian career. He bravely fought forest fires, using his skill to scoop water in aerial firefighting missions. He worked to control black fly populations, lifted logs from mountainsides with precision, and took on daring operations spraying illicit drug fields in Mexico. His unwavering spirit led him back to Vietnam, where he courageously rescued personnel from offshore oil rigs as the country fell to communism. Beyond his career in the skies, Mr. Dow found joy and solace in music. A natural musician, he mastered multiple instruments, including the piano, tuba in the Army band, trumpet, organ, and accordion. While stationed in Germany, he played the accordion for both the troops and the local community. Later in life, he shared his gift by playing the piano at the senior center in Enterprise. Mr. Dow also had a deep appreciation for Ford Mustangs and a love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed biking, walking, and spending time at the beach, embracing nature's beauty with the same passion and dedication that he brought to every mission in life. Mr. Dow lived life with honor, adventure, and an unshakable sense of duty. His legacy is one of bravery, service, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. He leaves behind not only memories of his extraordinary experiences but also the impact of a life well-lived in the service of both country and community. Mr. Dow, thank you for your service to our nation. A true hero.
