Lorraine Elizabeth (Urey) Kirkland

Lorraine Elizabeth Kirkland, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023. She was 76.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Jim Dane officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, www.abcf.org/get-involved/donate.

Lorraine, was born November 14, 1946 in Ancon, Republic of Panama. She was a 1964 graduate of Cristobal High School and attended college before entering the workforce. Lorraine was employed with the United States Army and The Panama Canal Commission as an administrative assistant until her retirement. In her 25 years of service as an administrative assistant, she earned several awards for excellent performance and dedicated service.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, John Urey, her brother, Jeffrey Urey, and her first husband, Tom Dugan.

Lorraine is survived by, her husband, William "Bill" Kirkland; her children: Tricia (Christian) Margeson, Brian (Katie) Dugan, Cristina Kirkland, Carolina Kirkland (Jose Manuel Varela), William (Marianela) Kirkland; grandkids: Stephan (Sierra) Margeson, Alec Margeson, Nicole Margeson, Hannah Dugan, Thomas Dugan, Samantha Kirkland, William Kirkland, Maria Cristina Kirkland, and Jose Maria Varela; great grandkids: Gemma and Ellie Margeson; her mom, Mary Urey; her sisters: Suzanne Kleefkens and Michele Perez and a host of other relatives and friends.
