Ltc Carl R. Froede

LTC Carl Russell Froede (US Army Ret.), a resident of Dothan passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence. He was 89 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 with Rev. Van Clack officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Russ was born to first generation immigrants in Pennsylvania. He loved his country, serving in several overseas assignments, including one tour in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star during the Tet Offensive of 1968. He loved his family dearly, his church family greatly, but he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the most, as he should have. He will be deeply missed by his survivors as well as the many people whose lives he touched with God's love and who were fortunate to receive his generous blessing, "Have a Christ filled day!" Survivors include his children, Carl R. (Susan) Froede, Jr., Paul (Alicia) Froede, and Julie Faith Froede; grandchildren, Alexander Froede and Joshua Froede; brother, Ronald (Alma) Froede; sister-in-law, Sally Froede; numerous nieces and nephews.
