Luesinder Blackmon

On November 10, 2010 the Gates of Heaven were opened to receive one of God’s greatest soldiers, Luesinder Cindy Bertha Blackmon of Dothan. She was 52.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Chapel with Dr. Marvin Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ms. Blackmon’s name may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd., Dothan, AL, 36303.Ms. Blackmon was born on April 1, 1958 in Houston County, AL and resided in Dothan all of her life. She was a 1976 graduate of Rehobeth High School and attended Wallace College where she received a registered nursing degree. She was employed with Southeast Alabama Medical Center for over 30 years until her recent illness. Ms. Blackmon was a member of the New Beginnings Outreach Ministry in Jacob City, FL.She leaves treasured memories to her loving and caring parents Tellies Jr. and Luevina Blackmon of Dothan; siblings, Vera Willie Starks of Dothan, Jerome Janice Blackmon of Dothan, Doris Blackmon of Dothan, Bryant Ray Rose Blackmon of Birmingham, Robert Jamelle Blackmon of Dothan and Tellies III Felecia Blackmon of Dothan; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts also survive.A special thank you to the staff of Covenant Hospice, especially Tracey Carter.
