Luevina Blackmon

Mrs. Luevina Blackmon was born on February 1, 1938 in Houston County to the late Foy Lee Callens and Julia Jackson Callens.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Dr. Marvin Henderson officiating and Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family requests that COVID-19 social distancing guidelines be followed, and masks be worn by all in attendance.

On October 23, 1955 she married the love of her life, Tellies Blackmon, Jr. They were married for sixty-four years and to this union seven children were born.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at New Beginnings Outreach in Jacob City, Florida.

Mrs. Blackmon was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Luesinder Blackmon; two brothers, Daniel and Jessie Frank Callens.

Mrs. Blackmon leaves to cherish her memories, her six children, Vera (Willie) Starks, Jerome (Janice) Blackmon, Doris Blackmon, all of Dothan, Alabama, Bryant Ray (Rose) Blackmon of Birmingham, Alabama, Robert (Jamelle) Blackmon, and Tellies (Felecia) Blackmon, III of Dothan, Alabama; her three sisters, Dutchie Marie (Fred) Beauford of Marrero, LA, Mae Nell (Albert) Brackins of Irvington, NJ, and Christa Andrews of Birmingham, AL; her eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
