Lynda Paul Blount

November 22, 1944 — April 9, 2018

Lynda Paul Blount, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in a local hospital. She was 73. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 4 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4 prior to the service. Mrs. Blount was born November 22, 1944 in Columbus, GA and lived there the early part of her life. She moved to Dothan in 1961 and was employed with Emmanuel Christian School and the Houston Love Memorial Library prior to her 20-year long service with Sony until her retirement in 2000. Lynda was an avid fisherman and loved to spoil her grandchildren. She also loved to play dominoes and other board games as well. She was an awesome cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church where she was very active with the Angel Tree Ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Gilchrist; and her brothers, Gene Paul and Curtis Paul. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, James Blount; her sons, Jimmy (Carol) Deal and Jay Blount; her daughters, Cricket (Dennis) Lee, Stephanie Blount and Daphne (Lee) Currie; her grandchildren, Sunny (Ron) Spires, Jon (Lady) Daw, Eddie (Aimee) Deal, Mark Deal, Jenna (Cristian) Sanchez, Fuller Currie and Mallory Currie; her great-grandchildren, Zach Spires, Jessi Spires, Tristn Bailey, Hunter Daw, Zaven Spires, Aarolyn Jones, Jon Lee Daw, Bodhi Sanchez, Lillian Deal, Gabriel Daw and Victoria Deal; her sister, Renee (Jeff) Neikirk; a special aunt, Nadine Blanton; several nieces and nephews and her special fur baby, Madison. Burial Date April 11, 2018 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 4 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4 prior to the service.
