Lynda Gail Speed

July 6, 1945 — June 7, 2016

Lynda Gail Speed, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at a local hospital.  She was 70.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Bevin officiating and Robert Byrd directing.

Mrs. Speed was born on July 6, 1945 in Fayette County Alabama to the late Fletcher and Thelma South and lived there the early years of her life until she met the love of her life and married on September 29, 1961.  The Speed family moved to Dothan in 1964.  Mrs. Speed was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Speed was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Thelma South, her brother, David South, and her grandson, Jeffery Jordan Speed.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Donald Speed, Dothan; her sons, Jeff Kadra Speed and Robert Phyllis Speed, both of Dothan; her sister, Leatrice South Bill Overton, Winfield, AL; her brother, Johnny Yvonne South, Winfield, AL; her grandchildren, Kileigh Speed, Kegan Speed, both of Dothan; her very special niece, Cynthia Scott Holmes, Dothan; her very special great nephews, Kyle and Kamren Eriksen, Dothan; her 10 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
