Machroyce Lee Corbitt

December 5, 1940 — March 25, 2015

Machroyce Lee Corbitt, Sr., a resident of Dothan, passed away peacefully at his residence following a long illness.  He was 74.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Westgate Church of Christ in Dothan with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time on Saturday.

Mr. Corbitt was born on December 5, 1940 in Houston County and lived in Dothan all of his life.  He owned and operated Machroyce Janitorial Services which he began in 1966.  Mr. Corbitt was very involved with the community and enjoyed his work.  He was a member of Dothan Community Church where he sang with the choir.  He was a member of the Dothan Chamber of Commerce, Humphrey’s Pride Masonic Lodge #344, the NAACP, and served as Scout Master for the Boy Scout’s Troop 118.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christine Corbitt; his son, Mackroyce Nassandra Corbitt, Jr.; his daughter, Sherry Corbitt; his 5 grandchildren, Monty, Conrad, Jarrett, Mackroyce, III, and Micah Corbitt; his 2 brothers, Aaron Ruby Corbitt and Sam Susan Corbitt; his sister, Recy Morrison; a host of nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.

Burial Date: January 1, 1970
