Madeline Mosley, a resident of Dothan passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her residence. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Walter L. Bower, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Mat was born in Blakely Ga in 1918. From there, she moved to Newark, NJ, where she lived until 1964, when she moved to Cliffwood NJ. Mat was in communications with Bell Telephone in Newark. She was married to Harvey Mosely of Blakely, and in the ‘70s’ and ‘80s’ they became world travelers, venturing to Moscow, Beijing, Morocco, London and the Bahamas. She lived a full life. In Dothan, Mat was a choir member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Mat is survived by many, including her nephew and niece, Michael May of Fort Myers Beach, Florida and Julie May of Los Angeles, California, Marilyn May; great-nephews Arco and Christian, as well as 6 great-great nephews and nieces, Angel, Paige, Vonte, Arco Jr., Dominic & Julianna Sophia; Mats’ family members in Dothan include her cousin Ora Johnson, as well as many friends and relatives in Blakeley, Ga., too numerous to mention; special recognition is to be given to the ladies who looked over Mat during the last 9 years: Barbara Brown and Gail Edwards.
