Major Thomas Meredith Duckworth, USA Retired, on 5 July 2020 departed his earthly life and began his eternal life with his risen Lord. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, 12 July 2020 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Mark Kocsis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-2 pm. Tom was born on 12 March 1952, to Thomas Edward (Ted) Duckworth and Margaret Mosely Duckworth in Monroe, LA. He entered the Army at Fort Polk, LA. In time he was given the option of an assignment with the Old Guard or attending flight school. He chose the latter and never looked back. Tom truly loved flying. After 20 years he gave up the controls and retired to the world of defense contracting. He always thoroughly enjoyed recalling his aviation adventures with old friends. He recently re-retired to Dothan, AL. Tom is missed by two accomplished sons, LTC Thomas M. Duckworth, USA Retired, his wife Karey, their children Nick, Raegan and Jameson; and son Police Captain Jonathan H. Duckworth, PFPA, his wife Angela, their children Savannah Grace and Thomas Clary (T.C.), his wife, Annette, family and friends. Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
