Mamie Harison

November 17, 1931 — April 8, 2013

Mamie "Irma" Harrison, 81, of Dothan passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, April 11, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harrison was born November 17, 1931 in Houston County and resided in Ewell for several years prior to moving to Dothan in 1969. She was a homemaker and very active at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in several callings including, a counselor in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society, the Compassionate Service Leader, Provident Living Specialist, as well as various teaching positions.

Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Samson Garrett and Marian R'Ola Chase; grandchildren, Lucas Harrison Lewis and Caitlyn Michelle Phipps; brothers, Brad Garrett, Judge Garrett, and Kenneth Garrett; sisters, Mary Clark and Fay Garnes.

Survivors include her husband Eddie Roy Harrison of Dothan; a son Eddie Roy Jean Harrison, Jr. of Edwards, CO; daughters, Beverly Ray Lewis of Ashford, Marian Harrison of Dothan, and Cathy Charlie Phipps of Dothan; brothers, Fred Garrett of Salt Lake City, UT, and Rex Garrett of CA; a sister, Hazel Oefinger of Duchesne, UT; grandchildren, Benjamin Lewis, Jessica Paramore, Caleb Lewis, Roth Rube Lewis, Bethany McPherson, Dana Harrison-Garcia, Stephanie Harrison, Angela Harrison, Jason Phipps, Jennifer Mitchell, Matthew Phipps, Kimberly Gil, and Garrett Phipps; 24 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Jason Phipps, and Matthew Phipps. Honorary pallbearers will be Roth Rube Lewis and Garrett Phipps.
