Marian Lucille Harrison

September 13, 1955 — September 10, 2017

Marian Lucille Harrison, age 61, suffered a fatal car accident on September 10, 2017, in South Jordan, Utah.

She was born September 13, 1955, and was the daughter of Eddie Roy and Irma Harrison. She was a long-time resident of Dothan, Alabama, and lived in South Jordan, Utah, for the last two years. She was a registered nurse and worked at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for twenty-three years and University of Utah Hospital for the last two years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was loved by all those who knew her and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Marian served a two-year mission in Spain and was fluent in Spanish. Marian attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She received her B.S in Nursing from Troy University. She worked in several aspects of nursing including critical care, travel nursing, cardiac nursing, and case management. Throughout her lifetime, she served in several callings in different organizations of her church, such as Primary, Young Women, Seminary, and Relief Society.

She was very talented and loved sharing those talents. She cooked, arranged flowers, painted ceramics, and baked cakes, including wedding cakes. She loved to shop, especially for others, and couldn’t resist a sale. When others have shared memories of Marian, almost all include Marian giving, buying, or making them something. She loved to take care of others; she even moved in to care for her parents during the last years of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Roy and Irma Harrison, a nephew, and a niece.

Marian is survived by her sister, Beverly (Ray) Lewis of Ashford; brother, Eddie Harrison. Jr., of Edwards, Colorado; and sister, Cathy (Charlie) Phipps of Dothan; thirteen nieces and nephews; and thirty-five great nieces and nephews.
