Marilyn Page Cobb Hughes

October 12, 1969 — January 25, 2017

Marilyn Page Cobb Hughes, a resident of Dothan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She was 47.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeff Champion and Brother Clark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-3 pm.

Mrs. Hughes was born on October 12, 1969 in Chilton County and lived there the early years of her life. She graduated from Jemison High School and was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama in Birmingham for over 23 years. Page also worked with the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind for 3 years. She enjoyed photography, shopping, cooking, movie dates with Randy, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Page had a great sense of humor, at times she could be outspoken and sassy. She didn't walk through life, she pranced. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bumon Hurlon Cobb, Irma Bouchillon, and her great aunt, Evelyn Patton.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Hughes; her children, Morgan Rhea Posey, Landen Kyle Posey, John (Karlee) Hughes, Justin (Jade) Hughes, and Brandon (Teresa) Hughes; her grandchildren, Kinley, Kip, Kace, Andrew, McKenna, Cooper, and Aiden; her parents, Larry and Kathy Cobb; her sisters, Christi (Todd Hall) Cobb and Angie (Scott) Quebodeaux; nieces, nephews, and cousins, LeAnne Knight, Drew Lowrey, Nikki Bush, Heather Ogle, Maigon Perez, Lawson Payton, Devin Quebodeaux, Ava Perez, Aly Childress, Alyssa Free, Candace Frickey, Kris Lowrey, and Trent Lowrey; her friends, Andress Gradic, Lisa Coffee Carr, Kim Nelson Smith, Gina Woodley Scott, Cheryl Willis, Jenny Savage, and Jennifer Fanning; and her loving pet, Zoey.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Lawson Payton, Fletcher Brantley, Linc Sawyer, Mac Woodham, John Robert Hicks, and Drew Lowrey.

Special thanks to the staff and nurses at Dothan Hemotology & Oncology and to Kindred Hospice for the love and care during our time of need.
