Marion Mclean

September 7, 1952 — December 4, 2012

Marion Stevenson McLean, 60, of Ozark passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.

Born in Newark, New Jersey to the late James Henry Stevenson Jr., and Margaret Lee Stevenson where she grew up and attended the Newark public school system.  As a young adult, she worked for the Essex County Correction System, the Department of Education, and the Veterans Administration.

She faithfully attended Shiloh Temple Church where she was nurtured and grew strong in the Lord. It was there she attained her evangelism license.

In October of 1995, she relocated to Ozark, Alabama. She worked for Oakview Manor Nursing Facilities and Fort Rucker Lyster Hospital. Upon retirement, she established True Light Ministries where she served the HIV community providing them counseling, education and prevention. Organized the food and clothing outreach serving the less fortunate and those in need until she was called home on December 4, 2012.

She was a powerful, joyful and inspiration to all she encountered; celebrating the loving grace of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Preceding her in death, Solomon Lloyd who lovingly fathered her two children, Sherwin Dante Stevenson Michelle and Tanniea V. Stevenson.

She leaves with cherished memories two dedicated sisters, Carolyn Deloris Stevenson and Lorain Stevenson Kelly; seven grandchildren, Keshon, Taquil, Dante, Isaiah, Stephawn and Caiden; one granddaughter, Niasia Natia Tana Stevenson aka Stank; two nephews, Emmanuel Stevenson Tiffany of Japan and the late Rahshai Stevenson;  one niece Naimah Williams Tyrone; eight great nieces and nephews, Dajon, Amanda, Joshua, Javon, Micah, Hannah, Emmanuel and Olivia; a devoted aunt Helena Johnson Nathaniel of Linden, New Jersey; one god-daughter Vicki Hatten; one grand god-daughter Shiqueta Hatten; one great-grand god-daughter Soniha Edwards; one irreplaceable and true dear friend Melinee Eutsey Melvin; cousins, Carrie Lee Bullock, Tunique Edwards, Keimon, Jayden, Heaven-Li Sky, Debra Marshall, Malcolm Marierose, and a host of family and friends.
