Marjorie Ann Rynott

Marjorie Ann Rynott went to be with her Lord and Savior on April, 19, 2024. Born on June 9, 1938, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Marjorie's life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community.

Marjorie's interests were a true reflection of her nurturing and adventurous spirit. Her love knew no bounds, her generosity touched countless lives, and her faith guided her through every chapter of her journey. During her years as a devoted wife to U.S.Army aviator Keith Rynott, she handled the immense challenge of blending two families with love and lots of organization. In addition to tending to the family's emotional and physical needs, she also played the leading role in coordinating multiple family relocations across the country as Keith's U.S. Army career evolved. In a very real way, she served as he served.

In retirement, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life; such as cooking-especially for her neighbors, solving puzzles, painting, reading, and engaging in spirited games of Pokeno with her friends in Dothan. She "adopted" everyone she interacted with from Doctors, to Bankers, to Maintenance workers, to the Postman; incorporating them into her family by baking treats for them and recognizing life events.

Marjorie's role as a homemaker is truly what defined her, but her travels and adventurous spirit are not to be overlooked. She and her husband Keith traveled together extensively before his death, making stops in Southeast Asia, Europe, traversing North America in their RV and even traveled on several world cruises together. She continued her travels after his death with cruises to Cuba, through the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean.

Her commitment to her community was evident through her active membership at the First United Methodist Church of Dothan and the Harbor where she lived her faith in both word and deed. She regularly donated to multiple charities and supported many missionaries. Marjorie's presence will be deeply missed by her church family, who relied on her wisdom and warmth.

Marjorie is survived by her loving children, Pilcherria (Pam) Jay, Dothan; Julie Rynott (James Babb), Midlothian, VA; and Richard Roller (Linda), Newton. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Matthew Roller (Leslie), William Jay (Laura), Marygrace Jay (Matthew Shaffer), Anna Jay (Chad Hudnut), and Jacob Babb, as well as her great-grandchildren, Matti Roller, Addox Jay, Lacey Jay, Sophie Babb, and Emma Shaffer. A host of nieces and nephews also feel the loss of their beloved aunt. Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith Jacob Rynott, her four siblings, and her parents, William Earl Sharrock and Inez Irene Byrd.

Marjorie was cherished by not only her family, but friends, neighbors and acquaintances. She will be greatly missed. In her memory, donations may be made to the Wiregrass Area Food Bank ( Wiregrass Food Bank ) .
memorial service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on a later date as yet to be determined. Marjorie and Keith will be united forever with their interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
