Mark Clinton Winkler

Mark Clinton Winkler, 41, died after a lengthy illness on Friday, March 30, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Taylor United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Nordstrom officiating and the Women of the Passion providing music on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home is handling the cremation services. Mark was born in Dothan, AL and lived here intermittently throughout his life. Over the past year he has fought a valiant battle against cancer. He has accepted Christ as his Savior through his illness and has been ready for this transition of his life's journey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lewis and Anne Winkler of Jacksonville, AR. Survivors include his parents, Ritchie and Margie Winkler of Dothan; his twin brother and cohort, Dan Winkler and wife Karen of Defuniak Springs, FL; his bossy sister, Leslie Winkler Edwards and husband John and a very special niece, Mackenzie Long all of Birmingham, AL; and his maternal grandparents, Fred and Dot Coffey of Taylor, AL. There are a host of friends he has collected over the years who have lifted him up in prayer. One special girl, Emily, the love of his life and his best friend since high school who deserves special mention. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Kindred Hospice whose staff have been with us every step of the way. They helped make our journey as painless as possible. Thanks also to the staff, nurses and physicians at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL. They have been awesome. To Christ be the glory.
