Martha Pace, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at a local hospital. She was 75. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Martha L. (Davenport) Pace was born May 10, 1942 to the late Johnny B. and Ruthie (Ross) Davenport in Pike County, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age at Holly Springs in Pike County, and later joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama. She attended Pike County public schools and in 1962 graduated from Carver High School in Dothan, AL. She continued her education and attended Hawaii University and later received an award from the Federal Employed Women Legal Education Fund, at Fort Rucker, AL for her leadership. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rachel B. Grubbs, Alfoyer M. Riley and Gracie P. Morris; her brothers, Johnny Howard, Robert Lee and Gary Davenport. She leaves to cherish her memories the love of her life for 55 years Willard J. Pace; her son, Michael L. (Lesia) Pace and her grandson, Jarvis C. Pace. Her sisters, Annie V. Goldstein, Tampa, FL, Ruthie Davenport, Troy, AL, Sandra K. (Darrel) McGuirre, Marietta, GA, and Gail Davenport, Dothan, AL; her brothers, Willie H. and Johnny A. (Cheryl) Davenport, Dothan, AL, Johnny L., Johnny Ray and Courtney Lee Davenport, Troy, AL; a sister-in-law Sarah Pace; a brother-in-law Jonathan Pace, Gulf Port, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.
