Martin Windham

Martin Windham, 65, of Midland City died Thursday April 12, 2012 at Flowers Hospital.

rnFuneral services will be held 2 pm Sunday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Smith and Rev. Benny Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 pm until 6 pm Saturday. rnMr. Windham was born September 19, 1946 in Dale County and he resided all of his life in Midland City. He was employed with Pemco as an aircraft inspector and especially enjoyed the helicopter check flights. He had over 40 years of service prior to his retirement in 2009. Mr. Windham was an avid Alabama Football fan and he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. Mr. Windham was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as sound director, a member of Local Lodge IAM 1632 where he served on the negotiation committee. rnMr. Windham was preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Tice. rnSurvivors include, his wife of 32 years, Linda Windham, Midland City; his daughters, Diana Wezensky, Yorktown, VA, Lisa Jeff Martin, Independence, MO, and Charlotte Jerry Outlaw, Ozark, AL; his son, William Hurt; his 8 grandchildren, Jamie Wezensky, James Wezensky, Jeffrey Martin, Christopher Martin, Katelyn Tirre, Amber Howell, Kimberlin Outlaw, and Brandon Outlaw; his brothers, Lorry Quida Windham, Macon, GA, Wyman Windham, Midland City, AL, and Wilton Lee Windham, Columbus, GA; his sisters, Freddie Ethridge, Dothan, AL, Rebecca Eldon Phillips, Ozark, AL, and Karen Bell, Midland City, AL; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew Steve Phillips. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
