Mary Frances Childress

Mary Frances Childress, a resident of Ozark passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Ozark Health and Rehab. She was 90.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 2:00 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alabama-Florida Council of Boy Scouts of America, 6801 West Main Street, Dothan, AL, 36305 or Union Missions Charleston, WV.Mrs. Childress was born in November 18, 1918 in Charleston, West Virginia and lived there all her life until moving to Ozark in 2003. She was a homemaker and the widow of Daniel W. Childress who died in 1999. Mrs. Childress was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Charles F. Hoplite and Virgie F. Simpkins Hoplite and a brother Eugene G. Hoplite.Survivors include a son Clifford Childress Retha of Midland City, AL; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Childress of Charleston, WV; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Childress, Deborah Fowler Richard, Kimberly Dowd Rick, 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Fowler and Nicole Dowd. The family would like to thank Dr. Connie Chandler and staff of Ozark Health and Rehab for the loving care and concern that they have shown. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
