Mary Alice Blocker Drew

Mary Alice Blocker Drew, RN, CNOR, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at her residence. She was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1721 S. Bay Springs Rd., Dothan, AL, 36305.Mrs. Drew was born on October 29, 1948 in Ozark, Alabama and lived there the early years of her life. She was a child of God, a devoted military wife, a wonderful Mom, and a caring surgical nurse. She was employed with Surgicenter for 10 years and Flowers Hospital for 14 years until her recent illness. Mrs. Drew was an active member of the Bay Springs Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband Glenn “Butch” Drew of Dothan; sons, Jason Drew and his wife Lynn of Cookeville, TN, Corbett Drew of Panama City Beach, FL; her father, Macon C. Blocker of Ozark; 2 brothers and a sister, Sammy Blocker of Ozark, Randy Blocker of Valley, AL, Ann Payne of Columbia, MD; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Slade Glover, Brian Greathouse, Marty Snell, Chase Woodham, Brad Woodham and Justin Cochran. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
