Maxine Agerton Ezell, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at a local hospital. She was 85 years old.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. The family will receive friends at 303 Oakview Drive, Dothan, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 257 E Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, AL 36301.
Maxine was born on October 18, 1937 to the late Roscoe and Lizzie Agerton. She graduated from Ariton High School and then attended Wallace Community College. She would begin her career at Ft. Rucker as a clerk typist before moving to Ft Lauderdale where she worked in the Broward County School System. She worked at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida for a short time before she and her family came to Dothan in 1982. Together they started their family business, Dothan Clutch and Brake Service. They would service the community for several years before retiring. Maxine was a caring and loving wife and mother to her family. She was a dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church and member of the Beacon Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Thompson, and brothers, Delton Agerton and Ted Agerton.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Don Ezell; son, Greg (Lisa) Ezell of Dothan; brother, Billy (Ann) Agerton of Jefferson, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her special friend, Sharon Jones, special caregiver, Mona Kelly, Kindred Hospice, Southeast Health Critical Care Unit and Comfort Care, for all the love and support that was given to Maxine.
