Maylene Creel, a resident of Midland City, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at a local hospital. She was 67. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darren Henry officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am on the day of the service. Maylene was born on March 6, 1951 in Greenville, Alabama and lived her early years in Selma. She was a 1969 graduate of Dothan High School. After high school, she moved to Auburn and resided there for a few years before returning to Dothan. She was employed at Wallace Community College in the admissions office for several years. Maylene was an incredible artist who loved to paint and draw. She also enjoyed the outdoors where she loved digging in the dirt and making things grow in her garden. Maylene attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Clayton Conrad (Michelle) Creel, Michael (Erica) Creel and Jacquelyn Kelly (Jesse) Covington; her grandchildren, Jacob Lavone Miller, Jesse Lee Miller, Jackson Levi Miller, Cadence Elizabeth Creel and Lily Grace Creel; her brothers, Stanley E. (Bonnie) Brantley and Max (Mary) Brantley; her sister, Audrey Spooner; her sisters-in-law, Penny Creel Smith and Irene Creel; and several nieces and nephews.
