Melanie Cantrell

Melanie Cantrell, of Dothan, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her residence. She was 62.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cantrell was born on August 1, 1954 in Dothan and lived here all of her life. She was a 1972 graduate of Rehobeth High School. She taught kindergarten at Emmanuel Christian School for several years and later with Ashford Academy until she retired. Mrs. Cantrell was an animal lover, taking in any cat or dog that was left homeless.

Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her sisters, Lynette Goodson and Brenda Kelley, and by her parents, Pete and Lillian Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sammy Cantrell; her son, Keith Cantrell; her 3 grandchildren, Logan Cantrell, Keegan Cantrell, and Aalyah Cantrell; and by her niece, Emma Rice. < /p> ) Burial Date May 31, 2017
