Alice “Merle” Langford of Midland City, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her residence. She was 71.Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Bennie Corbin officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2010. Mrs. Langford was born October 4, 1938 in Houston County and resided in Midland City most of her life. She was employed at Dothan Lanes and 231 Restaurant till her retirement in 2000.She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas that passed away in 1991; her mother Bessie Inez Nowell Bradshaw and her father Alton Bradshaw; one brother, two sisters, one daughter Jeannie Bell, one sister-in-law and one grandson.Survivors include five daughters and their husbands, Charlotte and Culey Ward of Cottonwood, Barbara and Ron Walker of Midland City, Teresa and Max German of Midland City, Norma and Dennis Ward of Midland City and Vicki and Rob Mays of Dothan; one step daughter Margaret and David McKee of Echo; one brother Johnny Bradshaw of Mt. Dora; three sisters and their husbands, Linda and Roly Guilford of Lovetown, Shirley and Pete Folds of Cottonwood, Evelyn and Brett Patton of Wake Forest, NC; one sister-in-law Tennie Bradshaw Boyett; several grand children; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.A special thank you is extended to Nurse Kat, Mary, Teresa and Keisha with Alacare Hospice. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
