Merlene Holley Dunn

Mrs. Merlene Holley Dunn, 82, who was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away peacefully in Knoxville, Tennessee on 1 April 2012 surrounded by her family.

rnBorn on 24 July 1929 in bucolic Kinston, Alabama, to the late Godfrey Lee and Claudia Holley, she was the fifth of seven siblings. On 27 March 1948, she married Thomas Irvin Dunn, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, and who survives her. rnShe is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Ann and Jack Dickinson of Knoxville, TN; her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Myrna Dunn of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Jim and Rachel Napier of Prattville, AL, Jennifer Dunn of Dallas, TX, Ryan Dunn, Brooklyn, NY; great-grandchildren Hunter Napier of Prattville, AL; Eden and Lola Bond of Dallas, TX; sister, Joann Milton; brother, Howard Holley; and sister-in-law, Merle Holley. Mrs. Dunn’s nieces and nephews are the late Dudley Holley, Martha Gail Wyndham, Deborah Williamson, Kathy Kay Engle, James Dunn, and Sharon Williams. rnMrs. Dunn has passed into Glory and into the presence of our Lord and Savior, but her body will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, in Midland City, Alabama where visitation will be from 10:00am until 12:00pm, on April 4, 2012, followed immediately by a memorial service and burial.
