Micah Knowles Avant, aged 63, passed away on December 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of joy and love. He was born in Dothan, AL, in December 1960, and his early years in Dothan laid a strong foundation for a life of faith and the importance of family. Micah was a proud graduate of Dothan High School and later pursued higher education at Auburn University before making Birmingham, AL his home.
In the years following college, Micah pursued his career as a drafter and 3D engineer before following his dream of becoming a business owner. He could often be found fishing on the lake with his dad and brother, and enjoyed sharing his love of classic rock, NASCAR, and Auburn football with his growing family. Micah's greatest joy was watching his four sons, Jeremy, Joshua, Jason and Jonathan grow up to become fathers of their own.
Micah was known for his devotion to family, his strong faith, and his infectious ability to bring joy to those around him. His sons will cherish the excitement he brought into their lives and his hopeful, dreamer spirit. Despite facing significant challenges in his later years due to a stroke, Micah's resilience was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Micah is survived by his loving parents, Murray and Annie Ruth Avant, his brother Scott Avant (Brandi, Nick, Braelyn), and his sons, Jeremy Avant (Lesley, Brock), Joshua Avant (Randi, Austin, Cade, Mia), Jason Avant (Meghan, Brayden, Bryson, Ayla, Maggie Jane), Jonathan Avant (Hannah, Nathan, Eleanor).
A special thanks to Wesley Place and their staff for their excellent care to Micah and family. He was thankful for the opportunity to spend his final days near family in his hometown of Dothan.
