Michael Denton

Michael Denton, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his residence. He was 57. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Welejski officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10-11 am. Michael was born on June 8, 1962 in Germany and lived the early years of his life in Daleville, AL. He graduated from Daleville High School and attended Wallace Community College studying electronics. Michael joined the US Air Force and served in Germany. He was the manager of Camelot Music in New Orleans and moved to Dothan to continue working for Camelot Music and later with Campo. Michael most recently worked at Best Buy. He was the life of the party, a great partner, and father. He was a trivia player and very competitive, he always won, and Michael was a huge Alabama Fan. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Earl and Doris Denton, his son, Michael Earl Denton, and his grandmother, Sarah T. Key. Survivors include his significant other, Wendy; his son, Alex Taylor Denton; his stepsons, John and David; his stepdaughter, Catherine; his brother, Dan Denton; his sister, Dianne Williams; and his aunt, Linda Adkinson.
