Michael “Big Mike” Johnson was born on June 12, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Clyde and Laura Mae Johnson. God called him home on May 15, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at College Street Church of Christ with brother Edwin Roberts officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 am. He lived in Birmingham until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1972. He was united in holy matrimony to Angenell Snell for 43 years. He was a faithful member of Adams Street Church of Christ until his illness. Michael is proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Laura Mae Johnson and his brother Charles Wright. He leaves to cherish is memories devoted wife, Angenell Johnson; four daughters, Shondra Reese of Birmingham, AL, Felicia Johnson, Lakisha Johnson and Raquel Johnson all of Enterprise, Al; two sons, Marcus (Beth) Johnson and Miguel Johnson both of Enterprise; seven sisters, Patricia Williams, Diane Jackson, Dorothy (Willie) Arnold, Inett Young, Linda Deshazo, Carolyn Deshazo and Bertha (Carnie) Cauthen all of Birmingham, AL; five brothers, Clifford (Cherlynne) Wright of Sheverport, LA, Rev. Donnell (Carita) Johnson, Ard (Johnita) Smoot and Eugene (Vanessa) Smoot all of Birmingham, AL and Earl McKinney of Tuscaloosa, AL; seven grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Mardarius Johnson, Xavier Johnson, Tiara Johnson, Briana Johnson all of Enterprise, AL Makiya Bloxom, Mariya Bloxom of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces and nephews and several special friends. Burial Date May 25, 2019 Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at College Street Church of Christ with brother Edwin Roberts officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 am.
