Michael M. Sanders

Michael M. Sanders, a resident of Dothan passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at his residence. He was 47.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service at Sunset.

Mr. Sanders was born on July 17, 1961 in Columbus, GA and spent the early years of his life there. He has lived in Dothan for the past 19 years working at Cooking Good for 6 years and Qualico Steel for the past 12 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons and was a member of the Northside Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife Cathy Sanders of Dothan; a daughter Christina Higgins of Dothan; grandsons, Marcus Higgins, Christian Sanders; a brother Billy Joe Sanders of Seale, AL; a sister Dorothy Pierce of Lodi, CA; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Qualico Steel, Wesley Manor, Northside Assembly of God Church, and Covenant Hospice for all of their love and support over the past several months.
