Mildred Lucille Goodson

Mildred Lucille Goodson, a resident of Columbia passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her residence. She was 73.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 prior to the service at the funeral home.Mrs. Goodson was born on January 23, 1937 in Crestview, Florida to Huey and Ada Parker, and lived there the early years of her life. She resided in Andalusia, AL prior to moving to the Dothan area in 1980. She was employed with Sony for over 15 years until her retirement in 1999 and later worked with Spectracare until her recent illness. Mrs. Goodson attended New Freedom Church in Webb, AL.She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Dennis Parker, Jimmy Parker, Charles Eugene Parker, and Benny Parker, and a sister Lilian Barsi.Survivors include her children, Perry Eugene Knight of North Augusta, SC, Michael Dwayne Knight of Andalusia, AL, Jeffrey Lynn Goodson of Irving, TX, Linda Dianne Shoemaker of Columbia, AL; 6 grandchildren, Tony Knight, Tonya Knight, Patrick Knight, Andrew Shoemaker, Tiffany Goodson, Hanna Lyn Shoemaker; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister Linda Stegway of Crestview, FL; a brother Donald Wayne Parker of Crestview, FL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
